Is it bad to pull out gray hairs is the common question when our hairs start to become gray. What comes to your mind when you think of gray hair? You think of old age, right? Well, this isn’t necessarily true. More and more young and energetic people are going gray. The only reason why you don’t see many young people with gray hair is because most of them are dyeing their hair. There are other measures that young people are using to fight gray hair. I support most of them but there is this one measure that I am totally against; plucking out gray hair. My answer of is it bad to pull out gray hairs is pulling out your white emerging hair may seem like a good idea, but it is not.
Why it is bad to pull out gray hairs?
1. It Will Damage Your Hair
There people and beauty articles that will tell you that plucking gray hair is good. They will give you many reasons to support their claim. One of the reasons that you will hear is that plucking out gray hair will help improve your hair structure and appearance. That’s not true! Each time you pluck a gray hair, you ruin your hair’s natural texture. For this reason, you will notice that your next growth will become dry, fragile, and prone to damage and injury.
Plucking hair will also damage your scalp and the roots of your hair. As a result, your hair won’t grow back permanently and you will be left with hairless patches; we all know what that can do to your self-esteem and confidence.
2. It is Not a Permanent Solution
Yes, plucking hair may help you get rid of gray hair, but that won’t last for long. You should also note that plucking out gray hair does not change your follicles; they are still gray, and for this reason, your gray problem will still come back. What should you do? Dyeing is safer and more effective when compared to other measures used to fight gray hair. You can, however, use any other method that you prefer as long as you avoid pulling out hair.
